Zoakis Sotiris

He was born in Komotini in 1972. Lives and works in Alexandroupolis. His involvement with photography started in 1988, when he bought his first camera. After an absence of years he returned and now photographs with modern means, with a digital camera and a drone. Aerial photography with a drone has captivated him from the very first moment. Landscape photography and orthophotography have attracted his interest.

"To see the world from above, as a huge mosaic, as seen by birds, as seen by God, is overwhelming. It makes you admire life itself and leave behind the trivialities, the problems of everyday life, the ephemeral. You become an observer of the world, and that seeing eventually comes back to you, as an experiential experience, to yourself."

He has participated in exhibitions as a member of the Centre for Creative Photography of Thrace, recently he has been awarded in a photography competition on "Greek rural reality". His first solo exhibition is titled "Enaedially and Cathetically".
