February 2026
In collaboration with the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation, the Centre for Creative Photography of Thrace delivered in Soufli two educational initiatives designed to bring photography closer to children and teenagers—from understanding light as the “raw material” of the image to creative expression and the presentation of photographs in a digital environment.

The first initiative, the workshop “Photography Through Smartphones and Exhibitions on Social Media,” took place on Friday, 6 February 2026, at the Soufli Municipal Theatre and was aimed at teenagers. Participants worked hands-on on smartphone photography, selecting and editing images, creating small online “exhibitions,” and exploring the basics of responsible posting—focusing on quality, visual storytelling, and digital awareness.

The second initiative, the educational workshop “What’s Inside the Black Box?”, took place on Sunday, 8 February 2026, at Archontiko Brika (Brika Mansion) and was aimed at children aged 7–15. Through the construction and use of a pinhole camera (a simple camera made from a box), children experimented with how light “travels” and how an image is formed, experiencing the essence of photography in a creative, playful way.

This collaboration highlighted the impact of creative education and experiential learning, strengthening young people’s relationship with images, observation, and artistic expression. The Centre for Creative Photography of Thrace continues to develop partnerships that expand access to photographic education and create meaningful experiences for the local community.
