The opening of the "RHODOPE" exhibition in Edirne, Turkey, has been a great success
The opening of the photo exhibition "RHODOPE: A Mountain Range - Fifteen Photographers" by members of the Thrace Creative Photography Centre, took place in the afternoon of Friday 10 May at the Edirne Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Turkey.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Member of Parliament Ahmet Baran Yazgan, deputy mayor of Edirne, Ertuğrul Tanrıkulu, deputy mayor of Edirne and Aris Radiopoulos, Greek consul in Edirne. The municipality, cultural associations and many people were also present.
The exhibition presents the richness of the Rhodopes through the lens of fifteen talented photographers. Through their excellent work, the photographers highlight the beauty, diversity and rich history of Rodopi. Through their photographs, the visitor has the opportunity to explore the culture, landscapes and customs of the region.
A special moment of the evening was when historian and musician Mr Özgür Barış Deniz Çoban played Miki Theodorakis' composition "The Dance of Zorba" on the tamboura, explaining to the audience the importance of both the composer and the orchestral composition. This was followed by a dance workshop with zebec and syrtaki.
The successful organisation of the exhibition is further proof of the dynamism and creativity of the Thrace Centre for Creative Photography. The members of the Centre continue to promote the art of photography in our region and offer high quality cultural events to the public.
The exhibition will be open to the public at the Edirne Chamber of Commerce and Industry until 15 May 2024.
